Thanks Mick, This forum has really helped to educate me and to alleviate some of my fears. The comraderie is something that really appeals to me as I have been treated like…well…crap in my other, thankfully, former profession. Thank you once again for your warm welcome to our world. |

I just received word that I passed my oral interview and am moving on to the background check (papers submitted) and then to the physical tests. So, I’m in the final stages of the hiring process. I’ll keep you guys and gals posted as to my progress. |

I am new to corrections to but i’m 6 months into it including my academy. I had no problems i had no college an had an M.I.P on my record, an as for the chemical agents the CS wasn’t that bad, the LE-10 on the other hand packs a pretty good punch. I know some of the ways corrections run vary state by state but from what i’ve experienced so far. i enjoy my career an plan to pull rank in the next yr an half. |

When I joined many moons ago I had no experience of L.E. either and most of the folks on here were the same. So if I were you I wouldn’t worry to much about that. It depends on other factors such as how well you did in your exams and interviews. And of course your physical and psychological tests. And how many recruits they are hiring. |

I just completed the written test and oral interview for an entry level Correction Ofiicer position at a New Hampshire county jail. I am a college graduate, have a squeaky clean background (really, just one speeding ticket in 2008), but no experience in law enforcement or corrections. I have always been interested in and intrigued by corrections, and now I am going for it after 18 years as a freelancer in the television industry. For those of you who have gone through or are officers on the hiring board, what are my chances to secure this position? |
