Realist02, Are you an idiot? Have you ever dealt a person who has no regards for you or your life? Just to shut you up; I have a Masters in Criminal Justice, working on a Masters in Human behavior. I spent 20+ years in the Military. I’m well educated and making good use of it. I don’t have hundreds of thousands of dollars in student loans to repy. I do this job because I like to serve my country, what do you do for a living? I bet it isn’t public service. No.. Your probably some snot nosed kid who just got canned from wall street, or better yet your sitting in prison because you stole or embezzeled funds from some retired couple. Take you hate else where. This site is for those of us who choose to do a job that, would scare the living hell out of most people.

The slimballs sentenced to death, didn’t care about cruel and unsual punishment when they destroyed their victims and the families. I say, eliminate them just as they eliminated the victims. Let the victims families take part in the execution and, let Justice be Served!

I’m in Washington State, Been here for ten years. Before that, worked in Missouri for 9 years. Worked everything from minimum to Supermax, Mens & womens.

The preliminary setup is on week four days work, the following week three days work.

Congraulations on your appoinmtent. Welcome to the Brotherhood of Corrections. Don’t worry about the lack of experience. Most of us who are in this field started with out any prior experience. Absorb as much as you can. You will retain the most important things.

I’m here in Washington state DOC and we are going to a pilot program for 12 hour shifts. If there’s any agencies that currently have 10 to 12 hours shifts let me know how it’s working out.
This is only going to be at 1 facility for now but, if it works out OK, maybe it will go state wide.

Hey Steve, As a former Missouri Correctional Officer, All I can tell you is to be careful. Any time your dealing with the female inmate population remember this; The Superintendent is standing on your left and your family is standing on your right. Don’t do anything that you wouldn’t do in front of either. Females can be very manipulative. They will test you from the start, stay strong and learn quickly to recognize the the early signs of manipulation.
