Topic: The Club House / Subject matter experts I agree with both posts, (Campi and DT Instructor). It pisses me off to see these wannabe f***up’s ,f***up and move up, but that’s the nature of the game. Campi states that the good out ways the bad and I do agree with that, DT Instructor, I hear where you are coming from. Don’t talk the talk unless you’ve got your hands dirty. Unfortunately thats what it boils down to in my opinion. P.S. Great topic |

Topic: Everything Education / Psych Eval jason121, it was smart of you not to lie. Most of these people that you meet in the hiring process have no balls. They wan’t to bully you with what they think is intellect. Be honest and do not sell your soul because once you do that you can never get it back. Like Mkck says, what you are drinking is next to nothing. |

Topic: Security Central / Best way to handle unruly inmate Squeeze, I’m very sad to say that the 80’s are back and then some. It’s a very sad state that this line of work and our country is in. |

Topic: The Club House / Pretty Girls... New Hire Corporal-Sassy, 115 times faster seems to me that you must do your job very well. You must solve problems long before they happen. Do you read cards or is it a crystal ball that you use? Where I work male and female officers are treated the same. I have also observed that looks aren’t that important when it comes to the perverts. Vasilisa, as others on this sight have said, be proffesional, get to know your coworkers and you will fit in just fine. |

Topic: Letter of The Law / Internal Training and Education Thanks Sqeeze, I agree. That clears up what I believe is an obvious and simple definition. Anybody can skew data and twist definitions to suit their argument or “stir the pot.” Some of these people like to waist time researching data and definitions to suit their argument and make themselves look smarter than they actually are. |

Topic: The Club House / Criminal Rehab Program Totallackey, so what you are saying is that cocaine, meth, LSD, crack, heroine, and that’s just to name a few should be legal? I’m sorry but I’m not buying into that. When one of these addict nut jobs hurt someone close to you let me know your opinion then. |

Topic: The Club House / Criminal Rehab Program I don’t think that is really the case, but we have theft for Meth, murders, robberys, muggings all for money to buy drugs or money owed for drugs. Also we have crimes comitted as a result of people high on drugs. People need to be held accountable for their actions and I don’t believe that being on drugs is an excuse for these crimes. |

Topic: The Club House / Criminal Rehab Program I thought Reagan was the one who declared war on drugs. Where else do you put these people? I’m not going to do my civic duty by taking one home with me. A vast number of crimes comitted from violent to petty are caused by drug users. |

Topic: Letter of The Law / Internal Training and Education LegalGuardian, explain how that applies to the role of the CO’s? We have nothing to do with their health care or sanctions imposed by the administration. As far as health care there are a lot of things that we can’t know because Data Privacy and HIPAA . With that said the CO’s are out of the loop as far as health care is concerned. We monitor inmate movement in and out of these areas and have nothing to do with inmate medical records. As for sanctions imposed for facility rule violations, the CO’s write a violation report and from there Due Process is in the hands of the administration. |

Topic: Letter of The Law / Internal Training and Education LegalGuardian, it appears that you are clueless when it comes to the duties and responsibilites of a Corrections Officer (CO). Your concerns need to be taken up with administrations as the CO is mainly concerned with safety and security, as well as enforcing policies and procedure set forth by the administration. I don’t understand why so you are hell bent on a definition of a word because it doesn’t apply to the CO’s. I also find your subltle attack on CO’s as arrogant and based on your own ignorance the CO’s required duties. I also find it a bit offensive, but very humorous. |

Topic: In Memory of... / BAD decisions It is my belief that they are just idiots, I have no time or sympathy for that sort of thing. It’s not bad judgement, it’s a premeditated act and then when they get caught it’s somebody elses fault. |

Topic: Security Central / Maximum security for former COs squeeze, a lot of our classification system relies on what the inmates say upon the intake process. If an inmate states that there is a problem the facility airs on the Side of caution and rightfully so. It is my belief that you need to know these idiots the best you can and any kind of Intel that you can obtain is key. |

Topic: Security Central / Maximum security for former COs Squeeze, no offense intended from my last post, I just never heard of these titles. I wish where I come from that there would be more input accepted form the line but oh well. Anyhow, 6 years and I’m done if I have anything to say about it. |

Topic: Security Central / Maximum security for former COs Knuckledragger and Squeeze, where I work the CO’s have nothing to do with the classification system and that is the reason for my questions. Sometimes we are asked for input on reclassification of an inmate, or a repeat offender that we the CO’s have knowledge about from previous dealings. I have never heard of any of these titles and that’s why I question their origin. Anyhow, I guess if it works out in the end, that is all we can ask and hope for. |
