Topic: A Broader View / Federal Bureau of Prisons

Hello: In Saskatchewan (canada) our government says that we have to put 30 years in corrections before we can retire…our age and years of service has to equal 80…so for instance I have been there for 20 years and I am 42 so I have another 10 years left so I would be 52 when I retire!!!

Topic: The Club House / Help Me With A Question

I my opinion, i would fight for my life and if I had to disfigure him then so be it. These guys don’t care for you or even respect you..I would fight for my life and if I happen to kill that inmate then so be it. I have always promoised myself, i would fight and if I died then i know I did my best. If i got punched and become unconscious then so be it cause there is nothing you can really do then -just pray that I would never wake up cause I would be mad as hell with revenge on my mind and would not rest until justice is served by me….!!!

Topic: Security Central / Education for Correctional Officers

I really believe that we as Corrections Officers we should have up-to-date education on the latest weapons, first aid, fire, training, defense training and drug information. I have been off on disability due to having cancer so when I do return to work in 2011, i am going to be behind on things. I need to be updated on things, such as first aid, defense training, weapons, etc..

We in Canada have a good pension plan so we can choose to work after retirment at any job..!!!

Thank you Mudflap…I am a corrections officer – its a male institute doing 2 years and under. I was very young when I started there in 1990.

Hello there; I work in corrections in Canada – Regina, Saskatchewan – I have been there for 20 years now so very young and basically “grew” up there.
