you will still have a lot of one on one contact…my facility is open bay bunks, and offenders can walk right up to unit offices…as long as you remember that you are there not to be their friend or buddy, that if policy states that they have certain things coming to them and certain things not…and learn how to tell them no…you will do just fine…offenders have day and night to figure how they will game you…dont fall for any tricks, and you will do fine…dont believe most of what they say, and view what they say through an idea of what are they trying to achieve by this…sounds cynical…but it will serve you well

My screen name is swannyj…I work for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections…at the largest high minimum security facility in the state…high minimum is basically a medium yard without two fences, just one…this is my first time posting on here…we have slowly been transitioning to computers over the last two to three years…other sections have had them, except for security staff on the units, although our central control and upper echelon of security have had them a while longer…its a slow transition…but form by form we are getting there…I am a Sgt working a fixed post at this point on the 4pm – 12am shift…also second generation ODOC and 4th generation law enforcement…my email is swannyj1970@yahoo.com
