Topic: Security Central / Research Study! Correctional Officers Needed! Dear Correctional Officer: We are currently conducting a study of factors of job-related related stress among Correctional Officers. This study will help us to understand those factors that predict stress reactions as well as those factors that may protect Correctional Officers. Our hope is that this study will be helpful to both officers and organizations in assisting the correctional officer workforce. As a Correctional Officer, by becoming part of this study you may help to increase our understanding of stress factors in the workplace of Correctional Officers. For these reasons we are asking for your help in completing three questionnaires on-line that will take about 15 minutes of your time. This study has been approved by Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Institutional Research Board. Your responses to this survey are anonymous and there is no way of identifying you. Our results will be reported in a group format only. If you decide to become part of this study and then change your mind, you can stop answering questions at any time. If you are interested in the results of our study, we will post a summary on-line on the site at which you heard about this study. If you would like to become part of this study, please go to the following link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2M9V78L If you know someone who would like to become part of this study, please direct them to the link above. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Bertee Thomas, Jr. Robert A. DiTomasso, Ph.D., ABPP Professor and Chairman Department of Psychology Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine |
