Topic: A Broader View / Food Attitudes

I’ve tasted some of the food too and it really isn’t that bad. I think it’s the best it can be on such tight budgets. It would be great if more healthier foods could be made available but I know they are mostly cost prohibitive. I appreciate your comments and if any one else wants to chime in I’d love to hear. Thanks!

Topic: Health & Wellness / Controlling diabetes

Pam, there has been a great deal of research showing that diabetes can be controlled affectively via diet and lifestyle, however, in teh with offenders this is a bit more difficult. I would start by discussing this with your dietitians as they can asses the caloric intake adn general carbohydrates in the diet. As a dietitian I feel that there is a lot that can be done with diet. I bet you’re paying a lot for your medications! Thanks

Topic: Health & Wellness / Benefits of Yoga

I agree – the practice of yoga makes meditation more achievable as we can quiet the mind through expending physical energy. I’m pretty new to yoga but have found considerable benefits already. There are so many different types of yoga that some initial research into what style you like best will save some time and money. N
Namaste.
