Out of sight and out of mind – thats the publics expectation. Perhaps that is best? I don’t know. Sometimes I wish we could continue to operate absent liberal policies applied as a result of the public perception of slanted incidents, movies, etc.

I doubt very much there is a link to find inmates in Canadian Prisons. I am a Correctional Officer with Ontario Correctional Services, Canada. But I think you might be surprised as to what a phone call can do. Just ask – its not generally a secret as to weather someone is incarcerated or not.

Topic: The Club House / Do you belong to a Union?

I with 4000 other Correctional Officers belong to OPSEU in the province of Ontario, Canada. Yes that includes Toronto. IMO the union requires a strength on par to the Employer to be effective and as a consequence of the same, we have two large beauracracies at odds. Generally I think its a good thing, hate to think where we would be without them. However thats not to say that we don’t have are issues with membership, politics, ideologies, etc. My Employer cannot be trusted to do the right thing absent oversight from a union advesary.
