Wexford Health promotes senior management team members

PITTSBURGH, PA (September 2, 2014) – Wexford Health Sources, one of the nation's largest correctional health care companies, recently announced the promotion of several members of its senior management team.

Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer Daniel L. Conn was named President & Chief Executive Officer following the retirement of President Mark W. Hale, who served for eight years in that role. Conn has also served as Wexford Health’s Chief Financial Officer. With extensive knowledge gained from more than two decades of comprehensive financial, operational, and administrative management experience—including eleven years in correctional health services—Conn is an excellent successor to lead the company into the future. Prior to joining Wexford Health in 2003, he worked across a broad spectrum of health care industries including managed care, skilled nursing facilities, psychiatric facilities, dentistry, and home health. Conn is only the third President/CEO in Wexford Health’s 22-year history.

Also tapped for promotion were Elaine J. Gedman, the company’s Senior Vice President of Human Resources & Risk Management; and John M. Froehlich, Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. Moving forward, Ms. Gedman will lead Wexford Health’s newly established Administrative Division as the company’s Executive Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer. In this role, she will oversee Wexford Health’s many administrative functions, including human resources, risk management, organizational aspects of clinical services, quality management, provider contracting, and credentialing. Froehlich will become a Senior Vice President, while retaining his position of Chief Financial Officer. His scope of responsibility will expand to include Wexford Health’s Information Technology and Claims Processing areas, as well as the company’s traditional financial functions.

Wexford Health manages correctional health care programs across the nation, covering 110,000 patients. The Pittsburgh-based company works with state and local governments to provide offenders with constitutionally required medical and related services.
