Article: BIRMINGHAM, AL — NaphCare, Inc., an independent partner to correctional facilities nationwide for innovative healthcare management and technology solutions, has been awarded a five-year contract to provide comprehensive healthcare services for the Federal Prison Camp (FPC) in Alderson, West Virginia. NaphCare will assume full responsibility for the management of all off-site medical services for FPC Alderson’s 1,100 minimum-security female inmates by working closely with local community hospitals and physicians. The company offers a full array of off-site services that include network development and contracting, medical scheduling, and a web-based software system to better manage inmates’ healthcare and costs. “Our entire team has worked hard to understand the unique needs of FPC Alderson so that we can proactively pursue our mutual goal of managing each and every inmate patient as efficiently as possible,” said Katherine Tarica, NaphCare’s Vice President of Off-Site Operations. “We’re excited to begin building a positive, long-term partnership with FPC Alderson.” This award adds FPC Alderson to NaphCare’s other WV prison partner, FCI Beckley, located an hour away in Beaver, WV. The company has been managing care for the 2,000 inmates there since 2011. NaphCare will actively manage the medical needs for FPC Alderson when an inmate’s health requires them to go outside of the prison for care. NaphCare works closely with the on-site medical staff to streamline the delivery of inmate medical care by using proven cost-saving strategies common in the private sector, like negotiating discounted rates at area hospitals, ensuring that only approved and medically necessary care is administered, and reviewing every medical claim for accurate billing and coding. |
