Yes, we are hiring all over the US and no, you have NEVER been required to have a degree to be an entry level Correctional Officer! Learn more on the discussion tab at our Facebook page – www.facebook.com/BureauofPrisonsMid-AtlanticRegionTalentTeamRecruitment. Lots of great discussion happening there. You can also find out more about position vacancies by following us on Twitter – www.twitter.com/BOPRecruiter. Where do you live? There might be an institution hiring within 200 miles of your house! |

I’m starting my training with the FBOP on Monday. My degree isn’t finished, but they accepted me. I think my military experience counted as specialized experience. If you have worked corrections, you shouldn’t need a degree to get in. |

My friend just made the jump from a state prison system to the Federal prison system in West Virginia. He loves it and not to mention that he went from less than 30k per year to over 62k. He is loving it, but there is an age limit of 37 years or younger. |

I have been involved in law enforcement and corrections for the past 9 years. I have recently applied for the FBOP. Anyone out there work for the Bureau or have? Looking for some further insight on the way they run, and how they are to work for. |
